Beat Of The Blue Planet PDF Print E-mail

BeatoftheBluePlanetWEB"Beat of the Blue Planet" is a multi-platform, multi-dimensional concept, vision and organization created by Andy Wasserman. It began in the 1980's and grew out of his experiences presenting "Making Music From Around The World," an arts-in-education series of world music programs and workshops for schools, colleges, libraries, museums, family events and festivals.

When Andy began using digital music platforms and personal computers in 1986 and the internet on a regular basis starting in 1990, he envisioned the delivery of interactive world cultures music software that would bring together text, graphics, video, animation and audio as a storytelling delivery platform to help people gain a greater appreciation for indigenous peoples of the earth. Although the technology at that time was in it's infancy, he spent 5 years looking for a company to help him manifest this idea. He pitched his ideas to a number of start ups who were looking at the brand new interactive CD-ROM market.

In 1993, with only a little more than 25 total interactive multimedia CD-ROMs on the national and international marketplace, his project was met with approval by Opcode Interactive, which was a new division of the popular professional music software developer company Opcode, through their design and program team contractor Virtual Entertainment. More information about this project can be found here.

As of 2009, an organization and website is in development for BeatOfTheBluePlanet.com, BeatOfTheBluePlanet.org and BeatOfTheBluePlanet.net that will allow this vision to manifest globally and on all levels of human activity into the 21st century.  These sites will act a worldwide community  from the grassroots, local level on up, with extensive resources and super-rich media content - dedicated to expressing the voices of the Earth herself, and all her peoples, animals and plants. It will use all the arts  of non-Western and Western cultures as a launching place with which to help usher in the social, economic and political causes needed for the betterment of the world.

Stop by this page in the months to come to find a link to the new internet site and learn more about how you can become involved in this organization.
