Andy Wasserman is currently involved in the developement of 6 new CD recordings grouped into 3 projects, all scheduled for release in the autumn of 2009.
- The first project is a four-CD set of solo piano performances that will be packaged as one single CD box jewel case. Each CD will contain 12 tracks of his original arrangements and improvisations of songs written by a specific composer. Disc 1 will feature the music of Billy Strayhorn, Disc 2 will feature the music of Richard Rodgers and the music of George Gershwin, Disc 3 will feature the music of the Beatles, and Disc 4 will feature the music of Stevie Wonder along with some of Andy's original compositions. Andy is collaborating with Diane Oltarzewski of InkSong to design and create a very unique, custom hand lettered set of calligraphic graphics for all the artwork on the CD.
- The second project currently in development is a new CD by the 3C Trio, this time featuring all original compositions by Andy, as well as a few by the bassist Lisle Atkinson and drummer Joe Licinski. This is a follow-up to their first release "Over Tones" which consisted of all Jazz standards and showtunes.
-
The third release is an all percussion CD that will feature Andy on his huge collection of ethnic percussion from around the world along with Joe Licinski, master drummer and fellow student of Papa Ladji Camara. Other drummers slated to join Andy are the trio of Joe Truss, Chris Cullen and Bazza, co-founders of Abbey North Drummers of Haliburton, Ontario Canada, as well as jembe player Dmitri. The music on this recording will be suited for dancers and choreographers as well as for listeners.
